Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor is a U.S.-based Pediatric Intensivist, educator, and global child health advocate. He is the Executive Director of Global Health Projects, Inc., leading initiatives to establish sustainable intensive care services for critically ill children in Nigeria and other resource-limited environments.

Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor is a Pediatric Intensivist at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Jefferson University, Philadelphia. With over two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience, Dr. Nwankwor is passionately committed to improving critical care delivery for children across resource-constrained regions.
A proud graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Dr. Nwankwor completed his pediatrics residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center / NYU program, Brooklyn, New York, and his fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He further earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University.
He is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) and an active Visiting Scholar at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Nigeria, where he also served as a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow.
In 2019, Dr. Nwankwor led a team from Nemours and Cooper University Hospital to establish Nigeria’s first organized Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla. This landmark project marked a pivotal step in Nigeria’s pediatric critical care landscape.
